Oh So Silly . I Heart Faces photo challenge

Who better to photograph for this week's I Heart Faces photo challenge, than my own daughter, Lauren, who is the silliest person I know.  She even picked out this outfit! Boy, do I love this silly girl!

I took these of my own girls in the hopes of having one or two shots for our Holiday card. Fortunately, I have very willing participants when it comes to taking photos. They both really like to go out and do a  photo shoot ~ so we did 2 locations; one with green grass, trees, rocks, and a water fountain; the other at the beach during the sunset.  I must say, these gals are my absolute favorite subjects.  Aren't they cute?

Well, I have just about wrapped up my "catch-up" on blogging my holiday sessions. I hope to never get that behind again! Good luck, right?

I love being witness to connections between family members... I get to "direct", and they get to hang out, interact, love each other, hug, and laugh, all while I am capturing it with my camera.  Have I mentioned that I love my job?

I loved this family's choice of clothing...casual, denims, blues, and a bit of print and plaid.  Everyone coordinated, without being too matchy-matchy. Great choices!

What a fun afternoon we had... these twin boys were positively perfect!  This family met me at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes for their photo session.  I love this place, as it has a perfect combination of backdrops for photos...beach, rocks, grassy areas, and architecture.  The sunsets here are so pretty, my favorite spot is an area that has beautiful red rocks...the combination of a smiling family, the red rocks and the sun in its last spot before it disappears behind the horizon is really nice.

How can I not love my job?  Look at these great kids! I asked their momma to bring some items that had meaning to the kids at this point in their lives.  I love that Monty chose to bring his Harry Potter book, and Daphne wore her most beloved sparkly dancing shoes.  She even showed me some of her moves!  This was a fun shoot, and I am so happy to have met this family.  Enjoy!

I love meeting new clients! I have come to realize how important my job is as a photographer...beyond the technical knowledge of all things camera, equipment, lighting, etc., I also am responsible for developing and cultivating a relationship with everyone I shoot, especially the kids, in the time that we have together.  I feel so blessed when a family puts their trust in me to capture their day.  Enjoy!

Sometimes things just work out.  I know, sometimes they don't, but I am an optimist, and I like to say that things DO work out.  We had an uncanny amount of rain this past fall that fell, strangely, just on the weekends.  Quite a few of my sessions had to be rescheduled, or planned differently.  This family was planning on traveling to visit the grandparents in AZ during Thanksgiving week, and funny enough, so was my own family.  So, we decided to reschedule her "rained out" session in AZ.  What luck to both be there at the same time, and then to also include her parents.  We met a Papago Park in Tempe...I loved the variety of spots to shoot, as my regular session backdrop is either the beach or small wooded spaces.  Enjoy!

If you can believe it, I am still catching up on blogging some sessions from late last year! This family is so dear to me, Amy has been a great friend for more than 10 years.  Her family is awesome, one of those you love, but don't get to spend nearly enough time with.  We zoomed all over the place, took a few photos here, and few photos there, and tried a nice variety of spots.  It's pretty fun when the kids are a bit older, and can handle getting in and out of the car, etc.  What a fun session, it went all the way until the sun was completely down.  Enjoy the photos!
